Meet Callum

I’m an enterprise and entrepreneurship educator proud to support the entrepreneurs of the future. I’m passionate about social enterprise, building start-ups, leadership development and innovation. I was first introduced to the world of entrepreneurship after heading up a catering business back in Wales at 18. From there I went on to study Law at UWE, realising I enjoyed solving challenges and wanting to make an impact in the community I joined Enactus UWE before going on to study Entrepreneurship Management and Innovation at Bath. I am currently the Deputy Head of Careers and Enterprise at UWE responsible for Student Ventures and the University’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.

Having previously worked in the team for 3.5 years, I am now Student Ventures Manager. I set up my own e-commerce start up when I was in my final year at Uni, and having successfully grown and sold the business 6 years later, I wanted to help students and alumni do the same.
As a Women’s UN Delegate, I am passionate about female business. Named as a Great British Entrepreneur Finalist 2018 and Startups 15 Young Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2018, I champion independent brands and am an advocate for shopping small and local.

Meet Lewis

I’ve worked in the UWE Careers & Enterprise service for just over 4 years, and in my role as Enterprise Skills Adviser for 2 of those. I ran a start-up company during my time as a student at UWE, selling my products at fairs, markets, and festivals across the UK, as well as on my own website. I find it incredibly fulfilling helping others to increase their confidence and turn their ideas into a reality, which has led me to take a particular focus in my work on coaching & mentoring.

What did I want to be when I grew up?

An Olympic athlete or an accountant…

Favourite song to keep me motivated:

Sam Cooke — A Change is Gonna Come

3 Things I would take to a desert island:

Map, Compass & Small Plane

An unexpected fact about me:

I used to be ranked as one of the best Pole Vaulters in the UK

Spirit animal:

Panda

You can come and chat with me about:

Running a business as a student, networking & relationship management, coaching, product businesses, marketing, UWE Enterprise competitions, pitching & presenting.

Want to book a 1–1 with one of our team to chat through your idea, ask a question or brainstorm? Get in touch!
