The Value of Morning Habits
Read any self-development book or watch any interview about successful entrepreneurs’ habits and you will notice a constant theme… all the world’s greatest entrepreneurs stick to a morning routine. Something as simple as how you spend your morning can dictate the rest of your day, having a major influence on your creativity, productivity, and overall mindset for conquering your tasks.
So, what are some of these habits that are attributed to the success of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs?
- Waking up early/at a set time every day
Waking up at a sensible time allows you to spend time on your morning habits, set intentions for the day ahead, and will allow you to avoid rushing in the morning (which can negatively impact your mood for the rest of the day!).
Meditation can simply be a few minutes where you observe how you’re feeling in that moment. If you practice this consistently, your mood and mindset will improve drastically. If you aren’t sure how to get started with meditation, we recommend looking up a guided version on YouTube. Oprah Winfrey has stated that meditation has been one of the most significant factors in her success!
A simple 10–30-minute workout in the morning will leave you feeling energised and less stressed. This can even be something as low impact as walking or yoga — just moving your body is the important bit. Maintaining good health is key for a healthy body, mind, and life.
4. A healthy breakfast
This is another reason why waking up early is important, as it gives you time to prepare a nourishing and healthful breakfast to start your day. Feeding your mind the correct foods will power your thought processes, keep you feeling energised, and will help you to avoid feeling sluggish throughout the day — meaning you can take on your entrepreneurial tasks with ease!
5. Setting goals
Writing a goals list for your day will help self-direction and will lead to motivation to tick them off your list. Goals don’t always have to be big and scary; they can be smaller tasks — such as setting a goal to spend less time on your phone and focus on work.
Do you have a morning routine? Whether you do or not, implementing a few of these habits will allow you to feel better in every sense and will ensure your day is off to a great start!
